60 Years of Legacy

A Legacy Built on
Excellence & Integrity

Fondly known as the "Starehe of Busia", Butula Boys High School has stood for six decades as a beacon of academic rigour, strong values, and holistic development in Kenya's Western region.

School founded with 45 pioneer students who began studies at St. Paul's Amukura, Teso South — placed in Form 1B, with "B" standing for Butula.

The pioneer class relocated to the current campus in Sikarila, Elukhari, Butula. Mr. Paul Joseph was appointed as the first Principal of the newly independent institution.

Butula Boys officially elevated to National School status — joining Kenya's elite group of top-tier secondary schools. The school occupies a 10-acre site with modern facilities.

Mr. Josephat Otsieno appointed Chief Principal, ushering in a new era of leadership, committed to upholding and advancing the school's proud legacy of excellence.
